Health Insurance Convoy Arrives in Jeddah Aiming at Educating the Insured about their Rights and Duties

The General Secretariat of the Cooperative Health Insurance Council has organized an awareness convoy that started its work through the health insurance section in the International Medical Center Hospital in Jeddah. The convoy aims at highlighting the role of media awareness and raising public awareness of the cooperative health insurance system, the executive bylaws and the unified document through direct contact with the insured to explain to them their rights and duties, respond to all their inquiries, and receive their proposals.
The Secretary General of the Cooperative Health Insurance Council, Mr. Muhammad ibn Sulaiman Al-Hussain said: “This activity reflects the keenness of the General Secretariat of Health Insurance to continuously launch awareness initiatives and convoys that make the beneficiary aware of his rights and duties, enabling him to become acquainted with the regulations governing health insurance that determine the responsibility of each party in the insurance relationship (health insurance companies, health care providers, employers, insured). Al-Hussain also stressed that the convoy of health insurance, which is now operational at the International Medical Center in Jeddah during the two morning periods  from 8 am to 12 pm and the evening period from 4 pm to 8 pm, is an extension of the previous convoys which began in early 2017 and will continue to reach the most important  hospitals and health care providers accredited in different regions of the Kingdom, according to a specific schedule prepared in collaboration with health care providers.
Al-Hussain stated that the section of the health insurance convoy in Jeddah is well equipped and is supplied by the best-qualified professional staff to receive visitors. It is also provided with brochures and leaflets. He added that this convoy comes in line with the development and growth witnessed by the health insurance sector, where the number of insured was more than 12,089,199 receiving health care services from 4467 accredited service providers through 27 health insurance companies and 9 claims management companies.
Al-Hussein explained that health insurance convoys they manage to run, are considered part of a media awareness campaign adopted by the Council, and include media activity through the Council's official accounts (@cchiksa) on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, in addition to the call center and customer care number 920001177, the electronic portal www.cchi.gov.sa, and the e-mail of the Council Info@cchi.gov.sa. This enhances the efforts to reach the maximum number of the insured and raise their awareness and information about the health insurance system, its executive bylaws and its unified document.
